    Default Premier League Prediction Game

anybody doing the sportguru version as well as the fastasy football one

Premier League makes its SportGuru debut
    23 Jul 2010
Following the success of our Football World Cup game and the positive feedback we received, we're delighted to be running a Premier League Predictor game.

It's a long old season, but all it takes is a couple of minutes each week to make your picks, and we'll find out in May 2011 who will be the Ultimate Football Guru.

    Game format

The format is slightly different to the other tournaments that we've run. We won't be predicting every single fixture in the competition for fear of PredictionExhaustion, and instead, we've picked the top 8 teams from last year and will be using their fixtures in the game.

That will usually leave us with 6 or 7 fixtures to pick in each round, which we think is the optimum number - there are plenty of point-scoring opportunities, but it's not too overwhelming. And plus, is anyone really interested in Burnley v West Brom anyway?

The top 8 teams from last year are as follows:

    - Chelsea
    - Manchester United
    - Arsenal
    - Tottenham
    - Manchester City
    - Liverpool
    - Aston Villa
    - Everton

    Scoring system

The scoring system during the World Cup was very well-received, so we'll be sticking with it, even though the Bonus Point calculations are a little complicated. Check out the how to play page for a full explanation.

    Default Premier League Prediction Game

Following the World Cup prediction game, where the Pubs Galore league was won by Pubsignman, SportGuru are running a similar competition for the Premier League. I have again set up a Pubs Galore mini league and those who participated last time should receive an e-mail invitation.

All PG Forum members are welcome, just go to the SportGuru site, register and enter the PG league with the reference ’BOGSGUST’.

The scoring system is similar to the World Cup and the task of picking results every week is made easier as only games involving one of the top 8 clubs from last season’s Premiership are included. Same basic scoring system, you pick the win-draw-win result and if you get that right you can earn bonus points for goal difference and goals scored.

Please post on here when you have entered so that I can accept you into the league.

Realised that I applied just 7mins (?) after reading automail about the new CliveJ league. I'm putting it down to coincidence, not SADness. And I haven't made any predictions yet!

... There's all night to do that!

Yep, I saw the email before the post on the forum. Just a few clicks to join, thanks for setting that up.

The only thing that caused me trouble was being forced to declare which Premier League team I support.

I'm in, cheers. What with this and the fantasy league game, I'll have to give up either working or drinking to fit it all in. Hmm.

And you can really taste the hops!

If it's a moral issue, you've surely gotta go for the Tangerine Dream?
