The Rusty Axe is the nearest pub to my house, but I prefer to drink here: The Wyndham Arms

    Better beer, warmer welcome.

I missed my chance for a beer there when cycling from Cheddar to Crewkerne nine years ago - combining pub photography with family visits meant I had a fairly tight schedule, so didn't stop in Kingsbury Episcoli.

30 minutes on foot from Chez Quinno and gets regularly visited

    The Alehouse
    The Allied Arms
    Double-Barrelled Brewery Tap
    The Fox & Hounds
Nags Head (which probably gets more visits in a month than the rest combined, mind you it is three minutes from my front door)
    The Retreat

The only pub I consider to be my 'local' in the sense that Moby describes, is Claret & Ale, which I visit fairly regularly, often for a final pint after a day of pub crawling elsewhere.

But there are a few other pubs in my local area which I'm always happy enough to frequent, including:
    The Green Dragon
    The George (JD Wetherspoon)
    The Oval Tavern
    The Cronx
    The Royal Standard
    The Skylark (JD Wetherspoon)
    The Spread Eagle
    Shelverdine Goathouse
    The Craft Beer Cabin

11 years since a photo, reckon you've just volunteered to take one and upload it
