    ANSWERS:

    1. Headwear of which two colours would you associate with Camden Town pubs?

The Black Cap and The Worlds End, known from 1631 until the mid/late-'80s as Mother Red Caps (or variations of).

    2. A journalist was recently assaulted where, on account of his sexual orientation and/or views on Brexit?

    Owen Jones in The Lexington.

    3. Which pub would you associate with the Uxbridge English Dictionary?

The Lyttelton Arms, renamed in 2010 after the late Humphrey Lyttelton, chairman of Radio 4's I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, on account of the pub sharing a frontage with Mornington Crescent which is a so-called 'round' on the show. Another round is called Uxbridge English Dictionary.

    4. Where was George Cornell shot?

    The Blind Beggar

    5. Where was The Great Train Robbery planned?

    The Star Tavern

    6. Which pub, bought for his mother, was passed by Reggie Kray’s funeral cortege in October 2000?

    The Carpenters Arms

    7. Where was the Hatton Garden robbery planned?

    The Castle

    8. What turbulent pub links 18-06-1963 and 21-05-1966?

These are the only two dates when Henry Cooper and Muhammad Ali met in the ring. 'Turbulent' is a nod to Henry II who said: 'Who will rid me of this turbulent priest?', the priest in question being Saint Thomas A'Becket, where the two men trained in the pub's boxing gym.

    9. Commedia dell'arte is the origin behind which common British pub name?

Pulcinella: the origin of [Mr]Punch [& Judy].

    10. Which takes its name from a performer whose clowning around was closely associated with the adjacent theatre?

Joseph Grimaldi is widely regarded as having created the world's first clown incarnation. One of the three theatres where he performed most in his trademark diamond pattern costume, was Sadler's Wells, behind which is The Harlequin.

I didn't stand a chance with 3. As for 8 I put the SE6 Fellowship & Star which is reported to have been owned by Henry Cooper.
I had Harlequin as an answer for 9!!

Is Punch & Judy a common pub name? I can only think of one!!
