Bit like when Mcdonald's threatened a Scottish cafe, the owner of which was part of the Mcdonald clan & family name & cafe was over century old, certainly was before burger chain existed

In one noteworthy case, McDonald's sued a Scottish café owner called McDonald, even though the business in question dated back over a century (Sheriff Court Glasgow and Strathkelvin, November 21, 1952).

Rather liked this letter in yesterday's 'i' newspaper, responding to the Hobbit farce:

'Now that the Hobbit pub has been told by the company that owns the Lord of the Rings merchandising rights to stop using the name, I wonder what will happen to my local, the Star Wars Return of the Jedi & Duck.'

    Another celeb joins the cause...

Is S Hants CAMRA getting involved here? Seems to me like it's a good local cause for them.

Should this item have its own thread?
