Annoying song, perhaps, but quite an interesting story behind this band (and certainly much more so than the endless 'Z' Factor synthetic creations...):

Default Suzy Atkins reviews bottled beers

It's not brilliant but I suppose it's a move in the right direction.

Melissa Cole takes her to task in the comments and Cooking Lager (under his new name) strangely doesn't mention Pot Noodles.

It reminds me of, quite a few years ago, my wife (yes, the same one who drinks Holts mild in Brown Beer thread), poured a bowl of hot soup into the lap of Liberal leader Jeramy Thorpe at a Liberal conference in Ilfracombe.

Many years ago my old dear, god bless her soul, tipped a pint of lager over Jocky Wilson for being loud and disrespectful during a woman's semi-final darts match at Brean Sands.

Beer? beer! An oxymoron shurley [it is meant to slurred before you mention "Stop calling me Shirley"]

Actually, most of the drop in lager sales seems to have gone to cider rather than to ale (and don't call me Ashley)
I've just joined Alcoholics Anonymous - I still drink, just under a different name.

The switch to cider may be linked to price as well as taste, I think tax on cider is less then on beers, introduced some years back to protect UK cider producers & workers, who probably vote Tory given the main areas of production

Bit like less tax on Scotch whisky than the Japanese import

See also unit pricing thread, is this the end of White Lightning?

For me I would rather drink cider than lager, but that is more age related I guess

A few years ago the only cider choice in many pubs that now have a cask and draught option would have been Strongbow or Dry Blackthorn. I think that a lot more money is being spent on advertising to make cider the cool drink, thus a rise in sales.
