Yes. And the number of pubs with the word 'Hotel' as a suffix is down but not out. Not that long ago whilst drinking in the Roebuck (NW3), a tourist walked in and asked if there were rooms available, having seen the name 'Roebuck Hotel' to the parapet; the staff looked suitably baffled.

AT LEAST 17 pubs in the York area - all owned by one brewery - are now closed and looking for managers.

I suppose this could go in Yet Another List too.

I doubt it's much of a scandal. I suspect this type of behaviour is fairly commonplace.

Does anyone have any idea what Humphrey is playing at? (Does he?) There are numerous other such closures around the country which makes me suspect there is an ulterior motive. Or are there just so many other pubs on the market that no-one wants to work for him?
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

When I counted the other day, there were 109 live advertisements for management couples on Gumtree.

Given that Sam Smith's website claims "about 200" pubs, this suggests over 50% are currently closed?

Snippet from Stan Hieronymous' Hop Queries:- Growers in the Pacific Northwest harvested more metric tons of Citra alone than farmers in New Zealand, Australia, France, Spain, England, South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Argentina and Japan produced in total.
