Very good, Tris.
For all the advances in technology, I'm reminded of those bags that you used to hang on a hook behind the door (1970s/80s?). My gut feeling is that the product will be adequate but not great. Certainly agree with you about the water.

As I have drank loads of bad beers from supposedly professional brewers how can this be anything but beer flavoured water.
You can still buy them in Wilco along with all the gear. There's a shelf in our local branch. And no I haven't tried it in about 40 years either.

I remember Boots homebrew kits - funny to think that a chemist would peddle something to promote the consumption of alcohol. I recall my dad brewing stout in a black plastic dustbin. I made a batch and at the time it was technically ready, it was indeed far worse than Doom Bar, Pride v.2 and anything from the West Berkshire Brewery. But I went off on holiday for a couple of weeks and when I returned, it was very fine indeed.
Bag? Is that rhyming slang?
My old pub has banned mobiles. I cherish the return of tranquility
