One assumes they'll have to get a smaller brewer to make it for them so why bother at all? Has anyone come across Charrington's IPA lately?? I saw it once in the Great Western and didn't bother to try it.

I like the idea of taprooms, though there aren't too many round here as far as I know, but they could be a touch alienating for those of us who are cleanshaven and over say 35.

The idea of taprooms is good but the reality is in some you are sitting in the brewers yard rather than a bar.Canopy is particularly bad.Weird Beard should have improved by now but it was when I visited sitting on pallets in the cold yard.

Went to Deviant and Dandy on Friday.Cold unheated railway arch but was warmed by the personality of the owner. Also went to Maregade .Enclosed bar but although there were only about10 customers the owners would rather mess about on their phones than try to make anyone feel welcome.

Another new one opening in London on 14th is Two Tribes .They have converted it to a modern looking bar with a brewery .That's the way to do a taproom.

The Wild Card Ravenswood Tap Room is important for the bright young things of Walthamstow Village as it allows dogs and children of any age. The expensive chain pub nearby does not.

Yes Canopy is bad, I visited last weekend and although I have to say the beer is very good, the place is pretty dire. We couldn't believe anyone could sit in the place and drink with the dreadful smell, so we took our drinks outside...

    Was impressed with Bullfinch though
