    Thanks. I'm suitably impressed.

The landlady of the George Tavern (Pauline Forster) has won the CAMRA John Young award, mainly for her resolute opposition to the proposed residential development at the back that would have threatened seriously her late music licence. I'm hoping it's doing more than hanging on. Also, I see that I haven't uploaded my photos of the Victorian tiling - now done.

The George Tavern, Commercial Road. (1969)

Are they still a going concern? I'm sure some enlightened soul will be able to tell us.

    Default Russian Spy closes pub

Bet no one saw this coming, that would be a review worth having

"Police extended the cordon in Salisbury last night (6th March) as the investigation into the possible poisoning of a former Russian spy and his daughter continue"

PS I have been in there, but it was only for a leak so didn't submit a review. Looked a nice pub in a foody sort of way

    Default BrewDog Pink IPA.

The masters of self-publicity are at it again. This time they're supposedly raising awareness of gender inequality. Yeah, right.

mmmh, a few of the usual suspects have been pulling their punches in their criticism of Brewdog, I wonder what the response would have been if it had been an old family brewer or less fashionable micro doing the same?

I've been there and looking at possibly going back next weekend to try and finish the remaining pubs I need to do in Salisbury. Maybe I'll consider somewhere else if I could be poisoned....
