    Yes, on a Wednesday...

Just now is the first I have heard of it, it's obviously well promoted. Thankfully I have had some beer today anyway.

Everyday has been National Beer Day for the last 23 years, bar 3 days, as far as I'm concerned.

Edited - Sorry, link doesn't seem to work unless you're an FT subscriber. Not sure how I managed to read it the first time, as I'm not.

the dream is about to become reality: Belgium’s first major beer pipeline will start pumping beneath Bruges from September.

If all goes to plan, enough beer to fill 12,000 bottles an hour will slosh down the two-mile underground pipeline from De Halve Maan (Half Moon) in the city centre to an out-of-town bottling plant.

I always assumed it was a joke when Southerners started banging on about how "they still paint their faces blue up North". It seems I was mistaken judging by this and what's more they are such savages they don't even wear clothes. I can assure you that you would never see such scenes of utter depravity and filth in Royal Tunbridge Wells or Haslemere.

I can't make up my mind whether to send an outraged letter to the Daily Telegraph or Viz.
