At the bottom it says "previous ventures into the hospitality industry ended prematurely".

Oh yes, I remember the one in South Wales and the one in Yorkshire that went spectacularly bust. So better luck with this one Neil.
The Plume of Feathers in Barlaston was one of the worst canalside pubs on the Trent & Mersey IMHO(hence no recent visit from me ) so any investment should be welcomed .I might pop in next time I'm passing out of curiosity ,assuming it is viable and stays open long enough.

Anyone remember Micks Grill served on a shovel from Mad O'Rourkes pubs. I want food on a plate, and have returned a meal on a wooden board before that looked disgusting, but was worried my food had just been scraped off the board onto a plate.
Alcohol doesn't solve problems .... but then again, neither does milk.

I am with the served on a plate crowd here, but have scoffed off a wooden board, my food board was fine, and tasty

I agree if you send food back it may well reappear with grot in it, you can use your imagination as to what here, when I was in the Navy, we once used contents of the gash bucket to serve a Petty Officer who complained about his meal

Tip to Jeremy Clarkson, just eat it, or leave it, regardless of what arrives, use Trip Advisor /PUG to give an opinion later, without someone spitting in your food :-)

PS, for those who do not like food pics for pubs, perhaps the link by Nick should be a clue of why some post food pics

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) updates its basket of goods and services every year to keep pace with changing spending habits. Under the latest changes, it will now track the price of increasingly popular craft beers made in microbreweries

Surprisingly no-one has picked up on the pig in a pub story, so here it is, what's not to like - it's a beer drinking pig in a pub and the poor bugger's been banned!

To be fair I have seen a few pigs in pubs and they all deserve banning.
