I can understand the practice on religious grounds by local butchers for a local community. It seems now you get it without any choice. This country has over the years brought in laws and practices which try to be as humane as possible to the animal being slaughtered. Some of you may disagree , that is your right. These are now being flouted by large companies providing food in retail premises. Why do Whitbread and Mitchell & Butlers need to do this. I bet you chicken processed in a country such as Turkey is a lot cheaper than European products.
One thing to remember is that this is from The Daily Mail.

As Frankie Boyle once pointed out.

Not only the Daily Mail, organ of the middle classes, but also the Sun, white van mans favourite paper, also carries the story and has an online vote.
Not sure about the Daily Star, I never manage to get past the nipple count.
Will the big pub companies also start selling none alcohol beer to us without telling ?

Not sure about the non alcoholic beer, but I have heard rumours about battery farmed hops - Poor little buggers don't stand a chance!

An interesting place. As you can see from one of my exterior photos, it was a bit on the snowy side when we were there so trying to keep balance wasn't easy inside or out!

Sin Eaters.....I think the modern version are alive and well. When you go to the after funeral do for a pint and sandwiches and a slice of gala pie, sat in the corner are a couple of old dears. No one knows who they are and if asked about their connection with the deceased the reply is muffled by a mouthfull of chicken leg or a cheese salad sarnie. No one kicks up a fuss because no one is too certain which side of the family they are from.
Watch closely and a small bottle of brandy from a large hand bag is used to top up their drinks. The empty space in the bag is useful when taking home uneaten items from the table. Well they are on a pension you know.
