Yes. I got in touch with a childhood school friend who emigrated there in the late '90s. She said that prohibition was initiated because of the country's hospitals' A & E departments filling up with GBH and drink driving related cases.

Why people still choose to work for this company is beyond me. They must enjoy living life on the edge.
Perhaps there's more to it than just the dessert and the freezer.
