This is a case of a brewery being honest for a change. It's been well known for years that Ram Tam is Landlord with added caramel and that Dark Mild id Golden Best treated in a similar way. All credit to TT for being quite open about this but as with Batham's I will endeavour to only drink the beers in their tied houses.

Call me a philistine, but I don't really "get" Belgian beers on the whole.

    I don't get the price.

I sympathise with you. The one time I visited Belgium I was happy to just drink their beers for a weekend but over here they are ridiculously expensive. The worst thing is English brewers attempting to recreate them all of which I've tried being an abject failure.

EDIT: One that I did and still do like is something called Orval.

Spookily my son has just come back from Brussels and brought me a present of a 750 ml bottle of St Bernardus. I love Belgian beers, yes including Lambics, and on this occasion the price is right.

As we've sunk to these depths, it reminded me of the rhyming slang opportunity as used in the crass and untested line "Hey darling, do you fancy an Orval tonight?".
