The Wenlock sure looks different in those pictures too the last time I went in the Wenlock even the floor looks clean. Those seats look very uncomfortable though

It was awful. What were they thinking of? Friday was actually my first visit to the Wenlock since I worked in Islington over 7 years ago and I made a point of popping in due to all the closing down stories flying around. I thought I had accidently walked into a teletubbies bar and everybody who walked in thought it was a lousy joke. Even the staff were finding it hard to justify the pub's involvement although the gorgeous French TV presenter sitting at the bar whilst filming an article for French TV was some compensation. Luckily the decor is only temporary (at least I hope so) and as I don't want that to be my lasting memory of the place if it does close I will have to schedule another visit when the old furniture is restored.
That is TRAGIC!
If that 'design' is anything other than temporary, it can surely only hasten the pub's demise.
