I think the idea would be that you show your smartphone or the little 'business card' thingy they gave us.
If you haven't got a phone you can download the QR code by other means and print it out, or get a friend or relation to assist if you haven't the wherewithal. In practical terms I expect they'll gauge the recalcitrance rate to be below the noise level. And if a bunch of lads showed up all bearing the same printed QR code while all the time waving their phones around even the most clueless doorman should smell a rat.

No cards handed out to recipients of the vaccine. Didn’t know the passport had a qr code if it’s anything like track & trace then the different nhs regions had non compatible systems.

Hmmm. On vaccination you get this, with a printed label showing your name, D.o.B, your address, NHS number and doctors' surgery name on the front and on the back you have the type of vaccine used, batch number and dates.

If you want to upgrade, this is what you get on your smartphone.

Apparently if you request the printed letter, that only has a barcode on it, not a QR code! And it is of course very easy to generate either and print your own 'certificate'.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

The vaccination 'cards' (recording dates of your jabs) are not vaccination certificates. For that you need to go through the process on the NHS app (NOT NHS Covid19 AP) and get the details supported by QR code. If you have a couple of hours to spare you can ring 119 (in England) for a paper copy instead, but that only lasts a month, whereas the QR code in the app re-generates every time you log in. This post is from Spain, but we drove thru France to get here, so Amber+ going home...

Not a problem of devolution, just government incompetence in not having joined up the records.
