Not sure its that selfish. Lots of pubs stop selling breweries beer when they are local and open a taproom. Pubs are in competition with other pubs to attract beer drinkers .They are also in competition with brewery taprooms but the taprooms have a big advantange as they have a wholesale business and they are selling the beer at cost rather the price that pubs have had to pay.

Not sure that pubs are part of the fabric of Britain to the british.Maybe to the tourists .Yes they are important but that was said about coal mining, ship building and other key employers but we have survived without them.Personally don't think that the style of pubs we on pubs galore like have much future.

Apart from the daily numbers and testimony from those directly affected, that's the most depressing thing I've heard over the last 10 months.

    Government policy leaked yet again?

Whatever evidence there may be that hospitality venues are not a major means of virus transmission, there is no evidence that the government is prepared to pay any attention to the scientific advice. They prefer to think of the people of this country as a bunch of unruly drunks, flinging their arms around each other and having a jolly sing-song in smoke filled bar lounges in the 1950s.

Breweries seem to be allowed to operate click-and-collect takeaway services, so perhaps this pub convinced Ealing Council that they should also be allowed to do so, as I believe they have their own on site microbrewery?
