Maybe, watch this space - "On 4th May, TPR received all the required documents, including accounts for the last three years, and is conducting an actuarial analysis “which will take some time."

The Welsh are far too tight fisted to go for that overpriced rubbish. I bet they just showed them a limited list of well known drinks so in Wales they chose the most expensive one hoping they would get a free drink.
Cobblers indeed, obviously people often drink what's to hand if they have no choice, the result of Fuller's, Young's and Greene King's duopoly in London. When available, I don't choose to drink Doom Bar if another ale is available, but increasingly I'm going for expensive Craft crap as anything's better than Doom - I just can't take it anymore. Indeed, the other day I opted for a Heineken over Doom, so perhaps I constitute part of central London's Heineken Mafia.

Sorry, I can't resist this: I think that's a triopoly - refer to post #post93159

I think I'm going to start replying with a link to my review of this pub every time someone has a go at Doom Bar.

I sometimes feel the same about Greene King IPA and this pub (although I haven't been there for a while so I had better re-review properly).

£4 for a pint of Greene King IPA four years ago? Good grief. Can you afford to go back for another? It'll probably set you back a fiver now.

I know, and that's probably why I haven't been back for a while, but I've always found it in excellent shape there...
