Walkers crisps shortage could last until end of month after IT glitch

"Walkers has been forced to prioritise its most popular varieties – including cheese and onion, ..." which is odd as our normal choice of cheese and onion has been unavailable in the last couple of places we've visited.

The last supermarket I visited had no crisps, of any description, from any manufacturer...

The current landlord has definitely improved the feeling of the pub, but that beer selection is never going to tempt me away from the nearby Rigbys, Ye Hole, Lion Tavern etc.

A 'mind-boggling' number of people fail to correctly use the word number, rather than amount - a bugbear which threatens to contest the great apostrophe debacle running rife in our society.
"Yep, a mind-boggling amount of pubs – 537 to be exact – share The Red Lion as a name"... seriously? an amount of pubs? not a number of pubs?
Fkn peasants. But it'll all be ok, as, those who consider inference of meaning to be the correct standard for the English language. are in the ascendance. We're doomed...

I must have missed that when I skimmed through the piece trying to avoid adverts. Well spotted, Jim.

Doomed? I think the end of the world due to climate breakdown will happen long before we cease to be able to communicate properly in English. (Or should that be "because of climate breakdown"? Any experts in correct use of English around to help, please?)
