What's the betting the owners suddenly go bankrupt?



Owners who demolished Crooked House pub after fire ordered to rebuild it

From what I've been reading they have plenty other assets which could theoretically be seized to foot the bill.
I won't hold my breath though as they will surely appeal the ruling.
If it does get rebuilt let's see if the 35 Thousand people who joined the Facebook page actually use it!

They have a seemingly prosperous waste disposal business; I seem to recall they demolished the pub to facilitate access to it. They have a house and they also own the land where the pub stood. If they rebuild the pub, they will have the right to sell - and make a profit from - it. If they declare themselves bankrupt, then presumably their assets can be seized. When The Carlton Tavern was rebuilt, the owner could easily have high tailed it back to Israel and washed his hands of all responsibility.

Hopefully not all at once.

I suppose we wait to see if the owners appeals,and if so how the appeal turns out.Personally I would be delighted if the pub is totally reconstituted at whatever expense is necessary .Hopefully to discourage anyone else trying this approach to a "historic " building not just pubs..
