I'm not sure that vouchers per se are the villains of the peace here,but maybe CAMRA needs to take a tougher line against Pubcos which only offer the poor quality real ale produced by several large brewers,and in turn CAMRA should admit that not all real ale is good .
I am often disappointed by GBG entries that simply have ( IMHO ) a selection of nationally available dull real ales.

I think the pubco's markups are far more significant. Beer duty has remained largely unchanged in recent years. The ee-aww group has Craft Union pubs in the Midlands selling beers at prices little more than JDW. Do they do this in the South? No is the answer because they know that most people will cough up. They are not taxes by the pubcos, just rip-offs.
