The opposite happened to me. I used to live in Corwen which is a very Welsh town. When I first visited the Owain Glyndwr Hotel , there was a group of people all speaking Welsh. When I ordered my pint (in English of course), they turned their chairs towards me, said hello and spoke in English for the rest of the night.

I'm way out of the loop. There's a "Beers from the Borough" festival in a pub on the Southern Edge of Waltham Forest and they've got two breweries I've never heard of.

But but but it'll be served in a stemmed glass from a posh new fount, surely the taste is completely irrelevant with such overwhelming wonders?
Probably worth twice the price
