    Shep's may well be the oldest extant brewing company, dating back to 1698, but the oldest brewery site with continuous brewing is the Ram Brewery in Wandsworth (1550-ish), beating Faversham (1573) by a couple of decades. The Three Tuns is a relative newcomer at 1642 (and ceased brewing for several periods).

    surely "a sunset coloured smooth tangy marinade" would be Thousand Island Dressing rather than salad cream? unless they have very anaemic sunsets in Burnham.
