nearly forgot - Flintlock and of course the Bay City Rollers
Leave the Bay City Rollers out of it.
A mate of mine worked on Hospital radio years ago and got sacked. He was asked to play a record to cheer up a 15 year old girl who was a bit depress. He played her Bay City Rollers -Bye Bye Baby Goodbye. How was he to know she had just had an abortion.

Check out the opening track on Haus der Lüge:

    Meint ihr nicht
    Wir könnten unterschreiben
Auf dass uns ein bis zwei Prozent gehören
    Und Tausende uns hörig sind

    Meint ihr nicht
Wir könnten uns im Äther braten lassen
    Und bis zum letzten Tropfen
    Im Verpackungshandel fronen

    Wir könnten, aber —

    Meint ihr nicht
    Wir könnten unsere Züge
    Zigtausendfach, in falschen Farben
    Weltbewegend scheinen lassen

    Meint ihr nicht
    Wir könnten uns vergolden
    Auf vierzig Sprossen
    Für unters Volk gebrachte Massen
    Viele Monde thronen

    Wir könnten, aber —

    Meint ihr nicht
    Wir könnten es signieren
    Vielleicht sogar auch resignieren
    Und dieses Land
    Gleich Eintagsfliegen
Nur noch auf und ab und ab und auf bespielen
    Um später dann zurückzukehren
    Ganz aufgedunsen
    Längst vergessen
    Nur noch kleine Kreise ziehen

    Wir könnten, aber —
    Come On You Hatters!

Alphabetical, usual proviso that I have undoubtedly missed some, and generally rooted in the 1970s:

    10CC
    Alan Parsons Project
    Beach Boys
    ELO
    Gentle Giant
    Gryphon
    Horslips
    Madness
    Meat Loaf
    Moody Blues
    Queen
    Roy Orbison
    Seventh Wave
    Slade
    Status Quo
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

I got 'told-off' by a barmaid in the Harp, Covent Garden once, when she took exception to the Dead Kennedys 'California Uber Alles' t-shirt I was wearing!

"In 1993, the band was booked to support U2 during the European leg of the Zoo TV Tour, but were thrown off the stage and off the tour when a band member threw an iron bar into the booing crowd." - I can understand that.
