This is the Night Mail crossing the Border,
Bringing the cheque and the postal order,
Letters for the rich, letters for the poor,
The shop at the corner, the girl next door.
Pulling up Beatcock, a steady climb:
The gradient's against her, but she's on time.
About 6 or 7 without looking on beer & railways. Ashamed I struggled with the Welsh ones though i have lived there 10 years!
I will Google the rest to improve my general knowledge.
When are we getting the answers.I like general knowledge quizzes and used to be in a pub quiz group for about 3 years.Surprisingly enough we sometimes won against far better teams.Bit difficult this one but no googling for me.Beer is my specialist subject but still stumped.

I'll publish the answers when I think everyone who wants to has had a go. I'm surprised you didn't know the Nottingham & Ind Coope ones,
The A4 LNER class seems to be causing problems. Maybe it's just a London name, but as a schoolboy it's what they were called, I don't recall anyone ever calling them A4s,
I used to do a pub quiz. The most memorable win was when the late Mrs Aqualung managed to name all of the Waltons from that horrible TV show! Goodnight LC!
Ungoogled:
1. Hardy & Hansons, Shipstone, Home
(2. Christine McVie - Guess)
3. GWR locomotive
4. Paines
7. Benskins, Watford; ABC, Aylesbury; Halls, Oxford
(8. Carnarfon - Guess)
(10. 15 - Guess)
11. Shap, Beattock
13. Brakspears, Boddingtons
(14. Either Wolverhampton or Brum can't remember which)
15. Boys Bitter
16. Gibbs Mew

A4 Pacific's is what every TV programme refers to them. Not sure what previous name they may have had. Pacific's was the name as your title they were A4's. So A4 was part of the name.
