In my opinion ALL Laine's beers are crap.

When the Blue Bell in York was having lease problems, part of the solution was to have a Laines beer on the bar.

They hated it and rebadged it as "Laines Obligation". It was appalling.

This is more like it,an American Red with citra and simcoe offsetting six different malts.Warming on a cold evening, well balanced so I'm glad I ordered three. 8/10

    Elusive / Siren -- Overflow

A kolsch style lager,a mixed nose of sweetness and hops but with initially a very tart taste, almost sour. After a few shudders, the tastebuds adjust and it is quite smooth thereafter. An unusual yeast .7/10

My wife is hassling me about spending too much money on beer.Although I have tried to tell her I may be drinking a lot of tins and bottles they cost less than I was spending in the pub.So tonight I drank
London beer factory -zia x 3 as they were a Christmas present getting used to the sweetness of this beer 7.5/10
?- bass .tried a bottle from Tesco only a £1.Quite nice to start with but soon became boring.6/10
So had a decent drink and only cost me a £1
Got a half gallon jug of cider in my shed also a Christmas present so might have to drink that next but it would be a last resort to be honest.

Surprised at the initial "tart taste, almost sour", which doesn't seem true to style for a Kölsch.

Very economical, John! But things are getting desperate if it's come down to a choice between Bass and a jug of cider.
