I love Salt beers
last few weeks I have started my session with a BBB here are the results
fullers -esb found this a shadow of its former self .little or no hop flavour 6/10
marstons -old empire -decent beer and seems to be unchanged over the last 10 years 7.5 /10
wadworth -6x surprisingly good and still got a fruity hop profile 7.75/10
Neither of those beers were on my shopping list, so no buyer's remorse here! I went for two each of Tram, Bowline, Bring Back the Riff - plus one each of the four Hexagon Project beers, all 440ml. Quite pricey at nearly £5 each (after discount), but as all are 8% abv or more (except Bowline @ 6.6%), I don't think that's excessive in terms of bangs per buck.

12 months of barrel aging in Red Bordeaux casks certainly gives a wine flavour to the 11.1% Baltic Porter . Pours with a very modest head but some effervescence. The nose is interesting besides the wine there is faint oak and fruits while the alcohol gives out a whisky note.I wish I was a super taster, then I might detect more from the 7 malts !
The only hop is Cascade but after each slurp there is a pleasing dryness which makes for easy drinking . A second is almost too tempting 9/10
4.8 units of alcohol .

I have a stash of Christmas present beers under the sink, mostly usual suspect beers that I wouldn't buy myself and generally not my sort of thing, many are destined for the sink but among them is an Old Empire.jpg which I am drinking now, a little on the sweet side but not too bad. 6/10.

Just enjoyed a Brew York Tonkoko Milk Stout, followed by North Brewing Session Pale from Leeds. Have to get chips & gravy on the way home...

A really good New England IPA with body and a smooth hop delivery from a mix of Amarillo,Citra and Mosaic in a hazy brew.So much better than their single hop Citra NEIPA and a joy to drink .9/10
