Not everyones cup of tea ,and i'd much rather have this on cask but Titanic Plum Porter from a bottle still has all the elements.Overpowering plum nose feels all wrong at first, but the deep background bitterness cuts through after about a third way down.it then starts to whistle and by the end I just need another. The 3PT has occurred regularly with this brew.Sadly this is my last bottle.

Just got to the bar and ordered a pint of St Austell Proper Job.

Got some Brewdog Duopolis DDH IPA for later. A tin of proper murky chicken soup.

Started off on Northern Monk New World ,a 6.2% IPA that drinks its strength, quite zesty. 7/10.

Default Tonight at Sheffield Hatters Inn

I had a delivery from Purple Moose Brewery the other day: 12 bottles each of Myrica Gale (Bog Myrtle Ale) 4.1% and Dark Side of the Moose 4.6%. Had one of each on Thursday when they were probably a little bit wobbly after the journey, though the Dark Side (a very nice dark, almost black, bitter) was pretty good. I've just had a Myrica Gale, which was spot on.

Managed find an Order of Faith at my local Morrisons, but not the other two. Was going to do a taste test, to see if I came anywhere near your scores, John. I picked up a few more anyway, since I was there, and I'll have a go at some of them maybe tomorrow and Monday. One of them's the Allendale Wanderlust that I liked when I did a blind tasting a couple of weeks ago, so I got another Allendale for comparison: Dirty Deeds. Also Five Summers from Harbour, Cannonball from Magic Rock, and Ridgeside Objects in Space. (The last named, and the Northern Monk, are in 44cl cans and cost £3.00 each, while the other four were on a 4 for £6 offer, but I expect they've got lots of expensive hops in them to justify the premium price.)
