Been happily retired for over 10 years now.

I was a project manager specialising in Implementation for a very large international computer company.

Got made redundant at 52, a regular occurrence in the trade, but didn't bother getting another job.

Eventually took my company pension at 60.

I started a new job last Monday as Sales Manager for a high voltage manufacturer in Manchester.
My job is safe for the time being, but they have cut wages by 20% for all directors and senior staff. Never had a pay cut before, let alone before I had even started... I was actually on my way home from last day at previous job when I got the call.
Because I wasn't on the books on 28th Feb I cannot furlough.

I have been back at work since Easter , and no ones more suprised than me , internet sales have gone through the roof , so delivering to lots of private houses , lots of pubs still having booze delivered , some having more than when they were open and acting as village off licence/bottle shops .
Hopefully this will keep up and keep the buisness ticking over untill the pubs reopen .

All good news! Don't forget to keep your distance, though.

Distance being kept , just leave box on doorstep and ring the doorbell to let them know its there , everyone seems to be home at the moment for some reason

Selling lots of premium stuff at the moment , sold more Cristal Champagne in the last month than in the last year and its £200+ a bottle .

I'm off on furlough until the end of May now.

Means I'm finally doing all the jobs I've been putting off foor years, like sorting out 15 years worth of digital photos.

Building Control Surveyor, we assess construction work for compliance, deal with unsafe buildings, licensing etc. Been working from home since 23rd March, it's challenging and new but still working and getting paid. Carrying out remote video inspection of works on phones for small jobs and using drones on some of the big sites. Much of the construction industry is still going and you wouldn't believe how many people are still starting domestic extensions , loft conversions and so on right now.
    Ok, maybe just for one......................

Seems less safe, but I expect that's me overthinking after being given project work that I haven't a clue how to progress with. In order to 'keep me busy' while working from home despite workload having otherwise increased!
