Against expectations, managed a few this week, mostly good.

    Goffs Jester Brew 1
    Dark Star Hophead
    Potbelly Piggin Saint
    Potbelly Beijing Black
    Industrial Coal Face Stout
    Raw Baby Ghost IPA
    Stockport West Coast IPA
    White Horse Stable Genius

The Hophead was the best I've tasted in a long while, almost certainly Partridge Green brewed, so much better than the sweet gloop brewed in Chiswick. But BOTW this week is Industrial Coal Face Stout, nothing fancy about it, just a solid 4.5% very drinkable stout.

    Lost Industry - Pale Jester
Scribblers - Ale of Two Cities
    Grasshopper - Nymph
    Revolutions - Marquee
    North Riding - Hazelnut Mild
    Bridgehouse - G3 Blonde
    North Riding - Kohatu
    Scarborough - Sealord
    Bad Co - Dark Necessities

    Cathead - Hazelnut Stout
    Cathead - Vanilla Stout

Not a bad lot almost entirely in Wolverhampton :-

    Holden's Black Country Mild 3.7%
    Shefford (B&T) Plum Mild 3.8%
    Backyard Hoard 3.9%
    Holden's Black Country Bitter 3.9%
AJ's Stuck In The Mud 4.3%
    Vocation Heart And Soul 4.4%
Burton Bridge Love Is Ale 4.5%
    Oakham Bishops Farewell 4.6%
    Enville Ginger 4.6%
    Crouch Vale 1046 4.8%
    Bristol Beer Factory Entourage 5.0%
Bristol Beer Factory 12 Apostles 5.0%
    Fixed Wheel Blackheath Stout 5.0%
    Green Duck Velvet Thunder 5.0%
    Holden's Special 5.1%
Elephant School Oatmeal Milk Stout 5.1%
    Brewdog Punk IPA (keg) 5.4%
    Kelham Island Pale Rider 5.2%
    Waen Chocolate Coconut Porter 7.0%

None of these were poor but the winner is the Vocation Heart And Soul (£3.20) in the excellent Keg & Comfort micropub which makes an ideal retreat from the footbore.

    Westminster

    St Austell -- Tribute
    St Austell -- Proper Job
    Timothy Taylor -- Landlord
    Greene King -- Yardbird Pale
    Fyne Ales -- Jarl *
Dark Star (Fullers) -- Session IPA
    Shepherd Neame -- Whitstable Pale

Some shoddy ale whilst on a pub crawl but a clear winner in Fyne Ales Jarl taken in The Feathers.

Next week drifting nothwards on the Grand Union ,then some footie which should net some much better ale.

And me!! It can usually be found in Glasgow City JDWs or more reliably the State Bar. I've got a visit lined up in May.

    Another late entry:

BOTW Marble Trials Series #2 (can). A 9.7% Imperial IPA which went down a little too well.
