Some good stuff in a normally quiet pub week.

    BrewDog Punk IPA
    Long Man Long Blonde
    Red Cat Free Fall
    Red Cat Mosaic Pale
    Taylors Landlord
    Dark Star Hophead
    Big Smoke Solaris
    Thornbridge Hacksaw
Overtone V3 NEIPA Citra & Mosaic
Runaway/Squawk Bourbon Barrel Aged Blackbird Stout
    Cross Bay Halo
    Flowerpots Perridge Pale
    Northdown He-Bru IPA
    Severn Double Hopped IPA
    Three Castles Raspberry Porter
    Hop Back GFB
    Oakham JHB
    Bowman Amerigo
    Alfreds Winchester Pale Ale

A few beers up there but the head and shoulders BOTW is the Blackbird Stout on keg at an insensible 10.0% a.b.v. And £3.30 a third , worth every penny in The Hornet Alehouse.

A couple of local outings and my first JDW visit of the year. Don't bother with their January Sale unless you're a Doom Bore fan.

    ELB Orchid Mild 3.6%
    Signal Absolutely Fuggled 4.0%
    Strathaven Old Mortality 4.2%
    Oakham Citra 4.2%
    Southwark Routemaster Red 4.2%
    Signal Sticky Hoppy Pudding 4.3%
    Mad Squirrel Evolve 4.5%
    Brewdog Punk IPA (keg) 5.4%
    ELB Imperial Stout 9.6%

The winner is the ELB Imperial Stout as tried at the Rose & Crown. It's just as good as the Dark Star one the previous week!

    Leighton Buzzard and Croydon.

    Rebellion -- Roasted Nuts
    Oakham -- Bishops Farewell *
    Thornbridge -- Jaipur IPA *
Kissingate -- Stout Extreme Jamaica *

Although the Kissingate Stout was very good,BOTW goes to Thornbridge Jaipur IPA on top form in The George.

Next week boating into London plus footie to provide contenders.

    This week:

Hardy & Hansons Rocking Rudolph (see BABOTW)
    Adnams Ghost Ship*
    Brancaster Brewdolph*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*
    Hop Back Summer Lightening*

The Brewdolph was suitably festive but BOTW goes to Hop Back Summer Lightening due to it's soothing effects whilst watching Saints beat Wasps.

Very quiet this week, mostly based on a quick teatime session on New Year's Eve.

    Thornbridge - Astryd.*
Totally Brewed - Papa Jangles Voodoo Stout.
    North Riding - Cascade.*
    Little Valley - Radical Roots.
    Great Newsome - Holderness Dark.
Jolly Boys - Mango IPA. BABOTW

Easy winner was the Astryd. At the opposite end of the spectrum was the Mango IPA. Unbelievably dire.

Not a bad list, short as I had several pints of most.

    Brew York - Jarsa
    Redwillow - Faithless 129
    Roosters - Yankee
    Roosters - Howl V7
    Roosters - Double Assassin
    Bingley - Goldilocks
    Fernandes - Firebrand
    Ossett - Cashmere
    Distant Hills/Nomadic - Loose Nut
Five Points - Five Points Pale
    Magic Rock - Salty Kiss
    Nine Standards - Porter

Hard choice for BOTW between two more stouts: Roosters Howl (V7) or Distant Hills/Nomadic Loose Nut, I'll go with the collaboration simply as I could drink more without falling over Howl is 7.2% and Loose Nut only 5.5%.

BOTW Distant Hills/Nomadic - Loose Nut
