Default Lack of reviews in a town

I've just noticed whilst adding a real ale marker to De Winton Hotel in Tonypandy that none of the pubs in the town have a review,
    although most have a photo.

About time someone paid the place a visit. It does have a railway station.

Any other towns that have no reviews at all?

    I can't remember seeing one.

Either Will had a day off the beer or he's behind on his reviews.

I remember when going around the Valleys JDWs how thin on the ground reviews were. It's hardly surprising as the old mining towns had little of merit even if it was a Brains house. You can add to that the fact that public transport is poor. It's very difficult getting from one valley to another. I remember having to get a taxi between Tredegar and Abertillery.
Blaenavon in Gwent has no meaningful reviews. There's one from 2006 and a "reopening review" by yourself. Tredegar has my JDW review from 3 years ago and a 6 year old review that doesn't tally with the What Pub description.

On my list of places to go to. I managed Bridgend and a good batch of Dyfed this year; will try and get some Valleys in next year. There's lovely.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

A day off the beer? What's one of those, then?

I photographed most of the pubs in the Tonypandy area, and the plan was to continue up the Rhondda valley through Treherbert and then over the top via Hirwaun and Penderyn, finishing off through Brecon and Talybont on Usk, which is quite a long bike ride. So it was never part of the plan to have a beer in the valleys: the Star in Talybont was the target. In the event, though, the day was so filthy that I was soaked through in half an hour and spent a lot of time at each pub wiping raindrops off my camera. Eventually I gave up and caught a train to Abergavenny. Luckily the rain ceased about half way to Talybont. (Haven't reviewed the Star yet - thanks for the reminder.)

There are sections of single line running, where they have to wait for a train to come up the valley before the next down train can leave. Any delays tend to result in cancellations while they scrabble around to get the right trains in the right places. It can quickly become a bit of a nightmare, and is not recommended after several pubs.
