Oakham -maelstrom was best beer this week and was meant to be my last pint of the night but was so good I had three.Stopped when I realised I was bouncing off the doorframes as I tried to get to the toilets.

A strange week mostly southern beers drunk at York Beer Festival,

    Amwell Springs - Eezy Geez
Bason Bridge - Hardings Pale Ale
Black Tor - Devonshire Pale Ale
    Buckland Brewers - Bok Bier
    Copper Street - Saxon Gold
    Elusive Claptrap Von SpillDeBeans
    Good Chemistry - Boundless Sky
    Gritchie - English Lore
    Little Giant - Fe
    Powderkeg - Speakeasy
    Riviera - Torbay Express
    Roam - Tavy IPA
    S7N - Amarillo Citra APA
    Siren Craft - Broken Dream
    Bingley - Goldilocks
    Saltaire - New Ground
    Wensleydale - Falconer
    Taylors - Boltmaker

The Wensleydale Falconer was very easy drinking while lunching with Mrs OB but BOTW from the beer festival was Little Giant - Fe.

    Limited:

    Brunswick Meach Pelba*
    Purity Longhorn IPA (keg)*
    Oakham Bishops Farewell*

All were excellent and whistled down during a warm week. BOTW was Brunswick Meach Pelba a 5.3% IPA with hints of peach and raspberry which gave a refreshing background flavour rather than overwhelming. Flew easily through the 3 pint test on a lovely sunny afternoon.

Not a bad week, with about half a dozen new ones tried.

    Ainsty - Pale.
    Milestone - Raspberry Wheat.
    Horbury - Tiramisu.*
    Nomadic - Elysium.
    Henry Smith - Session IPA.
    Elland - Belgian Wit.
    Empire - Plum Porter.
    Thornbridge - Astryd.*
    Great Heck - Dave.
    Tigertops - Island Life.
    North Riding - Citra.*
    Pig & Porter - Pale.
Glastonbury - Black As Yer 'At.*
    Parkway - Mad Dog.

Astryd is really growing on me. Great flavour for a 3.8% beer. Taken in Harry's Bar, Wakefield.
