    Hertford and the Euston Road.

    Tring -- Drop Bar (bottle)
    Mallinson's --Simcoe *
    Mighty Oak -- Kings
Tring -- Sidepocket for a Toad
Yeastie Boys -- Big Mouth Session IPA (keg)
Windsor & Eton -- Independence APA
    Five Points -- Pale*
    Moor --Raw
    Siren -- Undercurrent
    Southwark -- Mayflower

The extreme temperature must have dealt a blow to the ale at the Euston Tap where some well below par pints came out ,so BOTW goes to Mallinson's Simcoe ,low strength but high on flavour a long way from home in the reliable Black Horse.

Next week boating through Cheshire ending in Chester where there appears to be a surfiet of good ale houses..

BOTW Salopian Oracle. A pale, citrussy, refreshing and very bitter session ale which was just the ticket on the hottest day, last Thursday.

Fairly quiet week for me, but I managed to tick three new pubs, on a flying visit to Newcastle.

Northern Alchemy - US Session Pale.
    Bad Seed - Step Up.
    Marble - Uppe Hela Natten.*
Two by Two - Mosaic DDH.
    Siren - Suspended in Amarillo.*
Northern Alchemy - Lemon & Vanilla Oatmeal Stout. *

Not very often I come across Siren beers on my travels, but I always enjoy them when I do. The SIA was an hazy pale ale made with Amarillo, Centennial and Ekuanot. Just the job on a hot, sticky afternoon. Sampled in the Cumberland Arms, Byker.

Kent: a thin week, improved by an unplanned visit to a fresh pub.

Pig and Porter: Red Spider Rye 4.8%abv.Deep red, spicy malts.Gooseberries.In great condition, though I'm not a fan of rye beers.Taken, appropriately at The Black Dog in the beer's spiritual hometown.
Tonbridge:Golden Rule 3.5%abv. A floral golden pale ale, perfect for a summer's day. My BOTW,if only for the incredible hop aroma, that was apparent halfway through the pint.Taken at The Kentish Rifleman
