The train ticket prices are ridiculous from down here, especially travelling into London on a weekday so not gonna make it. Instead, I am going to be enjoying the treats of Crawley as I attempt a Winfield.

Have a great day, looking forward to the pictures and reports!

Point of order Mr Chairman... Can I confirm which Wheatsheaf we are targeting? I had the impression it is the one on the High Street and not the one on Frankwell?

Good, I was rather hoping you might. Might need to be a little more relaxed than 25 minute timings though, as that gives us 24 minutes waiting outside the Benbow for opening! Or perhaps something else sensible can be inserted?
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

Coach and Horses and the Admiral Benbow are virtually next door to each other , the nearest pubs are the Exchange which on my last visit a few years ago had 4 local ales on , the Loopy Shrew normally has a couple on from Salopian and Alberts Shed which has a couple of ales on , non of them are anything special .
I know Sheffield Hatter fancied a trip to the Boathouse so if you have 30 mins to spare you can cut across Quarry Park and cross the river by the bouncy footbridge to it , only take about 10 mins maybe less .

Fairly heavy rain predicted for mid-afternoon.

And bloody cold too, compared to our near-Caribbean climate!

It was nice to meet up with the earlier arrivals in the Salopian bar and Alan H in the nearby JDW. This had a very poor choice of festival ales. I made it to the Three Fishes by 15:00 but not realising it was so far down the list, probably leaving before the main group arrived. I immediately recognised it as one I had been to before around 20 years ago.
I've another stay in Shrewsbury next January when an extended visit to the Prince Of Wales will be the priority.

    Yes.

And well done to Will for creating such a wonderful and varied route - a great crowd and another fine day of Puggery!
