I hope to be in the Salopian by about 11:45 or 12 at the latest.

There's a very sketchy plan that I did about an hour ago for my own benefit, so that at least I would know what I'm doing. (I was expecting Oggwyn to be in charge, you see. The news of his defection has hit me hard.) I have allowed 30 minutes per pub and 15 minutes for wild cards.

    Salopian until about 12:15
    Armoury (wild card) 12:20 -12:35
    Coach & Horses 12:45 - 13:15
    Admiral Benbow 13:15 - 13:45
    Wheatsheaf (wild card) 13:50 - 14 05
    Nags Head 14:10 - 14:40
    Cross Foxes 14:50 - 15:20
    Three Fishes 15:30 - 16:00
    Loggerheads 16:05 - 16:35
    Yorkshire House (wild card) 16:40 - 16:55
    Woodman 17:05 - 17:35
    Royal Oak 17:40 - 18:10

This is my own personal plan and if I catch anyone referring to it or following me surreptitiously, I shall be very cross.

Well I have to say Will that is spookily similar to the list and running order I had wrote down,
With the exception that I have not included the Cross Foxes and none of them were wild cards so half an hour in all for me, especially as I have no train to catch..

If people want to follow that one and call it the Steve plan I will be honoured...

So I have now done the timings for my plan with 11 pubs and for a 11.45 start in the Salopian and 30 minutes in each, it should have us finishing after 30 minutes in the Royal Oak at around 10 past 6.

I haven’t been paying attention to anyone’s train exit strategy so apologies if that is too late a finish for some.

And I have to point out also that is using google maps walking pace and not Aqualung walking pace..

I'm sure Aqualung has his own plans.

I designated three pubs as "wild cards" because a) I have been there and wasn't that impressed, or b) the description on WP and/or PG wasn't all that tempting. Obviouly, if people like them and want to spend half an hour there, that's fine.

Your timings are very similar to mine, but I get the impression that the walk from Nags Head to Cross Foxes and back will be worthwhile, but obviously those who don't agree can skip that and do other stuff instead, as always.

Admiral Benbow doesnt open till 17.00 on a Friday , so maybe try
    Salopian
    Nags Head
    Cross Foxes
    Yorkshire House
    Loggerhead
    Three Fishes
    Coach and Horses
    Wheatsheaf
    Admiral Benbow
    Armoury
    Woodman
    Royal Oak

This also gets Wyle Cop out of the way while still soberish , its a bit steep , you can always nip in the Lion Hotel for a snifter near the top .

What? Are they out of their minds?

Anyway. Thanks for that. As I said above, this was a quick fix in the absence of the local info I was hoping that you would provide. Still can't believe you won't be there *sob* .

We'll take your revised suggestion, what's the expression, "under advisement".

Me again! Adding times showed the last list was still too early for the Benbow, so I have reworked again, bringing the Armoury back to the start and adding the Crown after the Cross Foxes (while we are in the area), or could be something more central if preferred. Arrival times 30 mins apart.

    Salopian >1200
    Armoury 1230
    Wheatsheaf 1300
    Nags Head 1330
    Cross Foxes 1400
    Crown/other 1430
    Yorkshire House 1500
    Loggerheads 1530
    Three Fishes 1600
    Coach & Horses 1630
    Admiral Benbow 1700
    Woodman 1730
    Royal Oak 1800
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

That's helpful.Colin arrives at 12.19 and Clive at 12.44 so now I've got a rough idea where to direct them to.
