Count me on that list, crowded pubs are my bane, too much hassle to get to the toilet.

Sounds like this festival would be ideal for you two

I've just joined Alcoholics Anonymous - I still drink, just under a different name.

Last autumn I made my visit to Robin Hood's stomping ground for the Nottingham beer festival. The ale was excellent. I'd had about 10 various halves so was doing well when I happened on DERVENTIO Cleopatra. 5% with delicious apricot flavour. So imagine my glee to find the said beer on in the Arbor Ales tap the Old Stillage yesterday afternoon (need to suggest that pub here). Only had 2 though due to work at 0500............

Hereford beer fest Friday but I don't think anything will surpass.

Well it was a decent enough start to theweek last night in The Baum.

Started off with a pint of Ossett Crystal and Liverpool Organic's Styrian Spring. Both fine but without any outstanding flavour bombs.

I then had a Cottage You Cannot Be Serious in a concerted effort with a couple of others to finish the barrel to get something new on. A bit malty for me that one.

Luckily we were successful and Chinook from Mallinisons came on. Another excellent light hoppy beer from Tara.

I finished off with two pints of Baboon from Brass Monkey brewery. I first tried this on Saturday and wasn't too sure about it, but over the last couple of days the character of the beer changed (or maybe I did) and I now like it.

The monkey's in the lead at the moment.

    Only one Mr B..........
Up to yesterday it's been a boring, but not dry week, then I got into the Nightjar. Cottage Brewery's Avro York, luvvly stuff. I know CB's beers aren't to everyone's taste but I'm a fan of the dark ones providing they're propely looked after.
Give 'em time before you put 'em on and get through them a quickly as possible seems to be the rule.
Oh, the next two guests up are Abbott Special Reseve and Orkney Dark Island, just when I've got some spare change in me pocket too..........
Pubs are a hobby, real ale is a passion. Oh, and like me dogs, fear no evil..........

It's Friday and not a single pint has passed through me yet! Will hopefully be at the Kelveden Free Music Festival tomorrow where the beer tent will have a few Crouch Vale offerings so I hope to get things sterted there.

    Nothing did but.........

The ale at the fest was all quite good, though many that I wanted weren't on yet GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

The GOLDEN VALLEY Hay Bluff (3.7%) was probably the pick. Interesting to see the Spinning Dog brewery has washed the remnants of the dead dog from the brewing kit and re-launched as Hereford Brewery, though the stand alone bar next to the khazis in the corner (along with the brewer's glum face) probably wasn't a selling point.

Stopped off in Worcester on the way back for the Dragon Inn. Mr Happy the landlord wasn't about but two new to me staff were encountered and were pleasant and the LITTLE CART brewery beer was tip top. Pity the name escapes me because it would be my joint BOTW!!!!!!!!!!
