    Kent;one welcome,if unplanned visit.

Welton's:Topper Mild 4%abv. I've always avoided Welton's beers as I thought they were iffy. However, recourse to my records shows that I'd never tried them.Institutional prejudice or what? A so-so Dark Mild with some rough edges.

    Purity Hopwork Orange
    Watneys Ray Of Sunshine
    Flowerpots Perridge Pale
    Flowerpots Spring Loaded
    Long Man Long Blonde
    Hop Back Crop Circle
    Camden Hells
    Tiny Rebel Juicy
    BrewDog Jet Black Heart
    Oakham Citra
    Black Iris Bajan Breakfast
LBC Never Mind The Kent Hops
    Pentrich Citra
    Pentrich Glass Half Empty

A few decent beers with a trip to a rather warm London on Saturday, but BOTW was found yesterday lunchtime in The Wonston Arms, Flowerpots Spring Loaded 4.2%, a new for me, and very nice beer.

    Harlow,Hertford,Shoreditch and Pimlico.

    Mc Mullens -- Mak Black
Mighty Oak -- Simply Citra *
    Strathaven -- Golden Summer Glow
Mighty Oak -- Charcoal Burner *
    Tring -- Sidepocket for a Toad *
    Buxton -- Downfall Ekuanot
    Harbour -- Cornish Bitter *
Black Iris -- Better the Devil You Know * (3PT)
    Magic Rock -- Cannonball *(keg)
    Bira 91 -- IPA (keg)
Bad Seed --Bright Light Big City
    Bad Seed -- Rhubarborous

The Magic Rock Cannonball 7.4% was an unbelievable hop bomb, but BOTW goes to Black Iris Better the Devil You Know on very fine form in The Commercial Tavern..A pale IPA,dangerous at 5.5% it flew down on a hot evening.

Next week Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

Just two visits to the E11 JDWs this week :-

    ELB Orchid Mild 3.6%
    Naylor's Velvet 4.0%
    Enefield EB 4.0%
    Signal Absolutely Fuggled 4.0%
    Oakham Citra 4.2%
    ELB Nightwatchman 4.5%
    Orkney Dark Island 4.5%
    Stonehenge Great Bustard 4.8%
Southwark Barbe Rouge Single Hop 5.0%
    Brewdog Punk IPA (keg) 5.4%
    ELB Quadrant Oatmeal Stout 5.8%
    Nelson Nelsons Blood 6.0%
    Enefield London IPA 6.0%

The Signal beer came out of the blue in the Wanstead George. According to the GBG Signal do not produce real ale but this was served from a clipped hand pump at the regular price. It was quite unexceptional.
The best was the Oakham Citra at £2.09 in the Walnut Tree JDW.

    BOTW Oakham Citra
One of my favourite beers, It does seem to be becoming a bit ubiquitous of late but its quality is holding up thus far.
