A pub is for life not just for Christmas
The Indian Brewery, Solihull.
I quite enjoyed The Baliff's Tap.
"Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer."
-W.C.Fields
This one:The Brocket Arms
"At that moment I would have given a kingdom, not for champagne or hock and soda, or hot coffee but for a glass of beer" Marquess Curzon of Kedlestone, Viceroy of India.
I haven't been to many new pubs in May but did manage a second visit to the State Bar in the Charing Cross area of Glasgow. As on my previous visit Oakham Green Devil was one of the beers on offer. If you come here when it's having a bad hair day there is a JDW across the toad and the famous Bon Accord is not far away. They do have TV screens here so I wouldn't like to visit when a major event was on.
POTM State Bar.
Easy decision:
POTM The Great Western. Good as ever if not better.
"Beer is food." Morse, Colin Dexter
Can't disagree with The Great Western but The Royal Exchange was equally memorable.
"Good people drink good beer" Hunter S Thompson
The famed Harrow Inn in Steep, nr. Petersfield is just edged out by a newbie, which had previously been un-reviewed on this site.
POTM: The Queens Head
"Breakneck speed we drown ten pints of bitter"
