    BOTW goes to XT M a superb strong and complex brew containing malts Marris Otter,Munich and Melaniodan with hops Motueka,Minstrel and Mosaic to celebrate their 1000th Gyle.It didn't drink its 6.6% strength and flew down in The Harvester (not the chain !) in Long Itchington.

    Next week a voyage through Warwick,Warings Green and Birmingham so plenty of options.

    The winner is Oakham Heights Of Oblivion which is a JDW festival ale and a complete misnomer with an ABV of just 3.9%. It tastes great and was just £1.99 in the Wanstead George.

    Harveys-Sussex Best Bitter 4%abv
    Reunion-Engage!3.7%abv Long bitter finish from a brewery new to me.
    Magic Rock- Dark Arts 6%abv Black;hedgerow fruit,coffee.A fine stout.
    Adnams-Broadside 4.7% abv A malty favourite.
    Mighty Oak-Maldon Gold 3.8%abv Crisp nettley hops.A pleasure.
    Shepherd Neame-Whitstable Bay PA 3.9%abv Unthreatening.
    Bedlam-Redroaster 5%abv.A smoked coffee porter. Bitter,not over heavy with the bean:more on the aroma front.

    Not a particularly inspiring week for me, but Beer of the Week would be Love & Hate by Vocation Brewery, with Red Shift by Thirst Class Ale & Torrside a respectable second place.

    The Love & Hate is one I have had before, and think I enjoyed it even more the second time round. The Red Shift was new to me, a red ale with coffee.
