Bits of London, two new pubs in Oxford as well as finally getting around to doing Hertford which was on last year's hitlist.

Some great pubs visited in both cities, including The Black Horse, The Mayflower, The Newmans Arms, and The White Horse are just edged out by Hertford's excellent Old Cross Tavern.

Didn't travel far from home this month,so my POTM is:Larkins' Alehouse , which has afforded interesting beers on all my visits this month.

Despite a quiet month I've got two completely contrasting places the Holy Inadequate and the Ludlow Brewery Tap.
The Ludlow one shades it as it's so unusual to find a tap room in a small brewery that's been properly done out.

Just the one new pub so far this year, but worthy enough to be nominated as a POTM. Enjoyed our visit to The Robin Hood, Altofts, with beer brewed on the premises as a bonus.

    The Boat Inn

A canalside classic, but make sure you sup in the small snug at the rear of the building where you will get drawn into all sorts of conversations and you can be warmed by both the real fire and Old Empire IPA.The pub has been in the same family over 140 years and there is a timeless charm in the old parts. Also a top drawer curry house on the opposite bank, nirvana.

You didn't mention the table skittles in the back room, which I hope is still there?
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement
