I used to go in the long-closed Shakespeare in Lancaster in the early 1980s. With two or three friends we used to play pool and put some records on. This is one that always takes me back to a sunny Saturday around Easter of 1980. The Jam: Going Underground.

My regular haunt in Lancaster was The Sun Hotel, which was then a fairly undistinguished back street boozer with pretty ordinary Yates & Jackson bitter, a pool table and a juke box. These three tracks always seemed to be on:
