So, 42!! ... and a week's crawl around that lot would surely provide the quintessential answer to life, the universe, and everything..!
It wasn't part of the official crawl being a bit north of the city centre in an industrial wasteland, well worth the trip though but.

I make it 32 for me a few of which were many years ago. The furthest back was the Crown at Stockport which was the first port of call on my first visit to Robinson's brewery and my first visit to Stockport. It was a Boddington's pub then and it was before they ruined the bitter. Old Tom featured later making it a shambolic event!

OK, answer this: how "normal" does the distribution of the nominated pubs look?

A group of us went at the end, led ably by Ian...we were all pretty blootered, so I can't much recall who was there (OB, PSM and RAR seem to ring a bell). Pretty sure you weren't though, Jym.

You must've been more blootered than you thought - I didn't even go on the Hull crawl!!

Ah, I did the Holy Inadequate separately to others outside Newcastle-U-L, but maybe not the Whalebone then.
Well, 41 doesn't give me the answer to life etc... I'm lost now!

Only 9. This is Holy Inadequate! As none are in Wales, Really must get out of Wales more!

Still struggling to get a top 10 (Many contenders before my reviewing days)

Your spirit must linger with us - !

My only memories of the Whalebone on that first visit are a fragment of walking through the estate (sans Kaiser Chiefs), and then inside the pub with a rugby league match on the go and me loudly declaring it as 'one of the best boozers everrrr'

I have since been back and I concur with my original statement.
