The worst I can offer is the Sports Bar & Grill in Farringdon, but scoring a '3' isn't going to win the prize (even though I had to try visiting three times before actually purchasing something...).

I always try to find some positives in a pub, even if not to my own taste. However there has to be an exception. I can think of one or two other likely contenders, but they stole the advantage by not even opening, which must surely be the definition of the worst pub!

And just to add some fuel to the fire, here is my nomination for the worst 'Spoon's visited during the year.
On leaving the bar, I felt a strong blow to the back of my head. Turning round, I discovered it was the pavement

    A late entry: Citi Terrace

For a deconsecrated JDW this one pushes the genre to the limit.

This one Blonde Barrel in Newcastle.

Truly awful, with no redeeming features at all.

Agree, as do most of the most recent reviewers.

Not been to many new pubs this year but did encounter a less than memorable experience at The Perch Inn a few days ago. This place would seem to be more of a restaurant conversion than pub.

Thanks all, a cracking read which made me feel much better about my mostly unadventurous year - apart from first Burton tour - and the fact that I mostly cherry pick these days, with the superb help of the erudite PG scribes.

We did stumble into a couple that should feature but my lazy lack of reviews, or even note-taking, means I don't have a record of which they were, mea culpa...

What did you think of Burton? I like it a lot more than the days when I used to go there for a visit to Burton Bridge and / or Marstons. The traffic is still a pain! I like to combine it with an evening visit to the Alex & Brunswick in Derby.

I was fairly impressed with that one when I went earlier in the year (just thrown up the review). Though I was moved to add my final sentence in light of your comments
