I've got my £5.95 Waterloo tickets, I don't know how much of the route I will manage but I am determined to spend some time at the Hole In The Wall. I went to Ludlow last week and didn't get any further than the Ludlow Brewery Tap!

Hole In The Wall is good but there is more.

I know Ludlow well but have never been to any of the pubs as I'm always driving; I suggested the place as a crawl venue a couple of years ago. I wonder if it's a viable future option?

I've done a few of the pubs on occasions over the years. I would say it's a bit limited as a crawl venue. (There are a few pubs that don't open until about 5pm, which if they were open earlier might tip the balance.)

You've never been to a pub there, but suggested it as a PG crawl? Errmm..?

I'd go along with that, there aren't actually all that many pubs. I stayed there once nearly 40 years ago and my recollection was that it was all Grenall pubs. I was so impressed with the Ludlow tap this time that there seemed little point in moving! Another thing against it is that it's not the easiest place to get to apart from S Wales or the Chester / Manchester sort of area. There are also lots of better places in the bit in between the North and the South.

I'm sure you're right, I'm not averse to including a few more outlets but my knees have been playing up lately. I'll be taking a look at likely beers available (my number one priority) before the date.

Have you checked the buses? Seems like they'd be a priority if your knees are bothering you.

I know there's a few buses from the main station down to Southsea. I just need to check out what is and isn't viable on the route.
