Hop Shed Endeavour Green Hop Pale 4.0%

    Harlow,Enfield and Bloomsbury.

    New River -- Riverbed Red
    Salopian -- Hop Twister *
    Sambrooks -- Pumphouse Pale Ale
    Tiny Rebel -- Cwtch *
    Lacons -- Affinity
    Bloomsbury -- London IPA

    Oakham -- Bishops Farewell
    Five Points -- XPA *

Some variable quality with BOTW going to Salopian Hop Twister on fine form in The Moon under Water.

Next week final push up the Nene Valley to be reunited with the canal system, then a Mansion House visit and footie so lots of scope for fine ale.

A week of two halves, (not the drink measure).

    Flowerpots Perridge Pale
    Youngs Bitter
Barnet Hoppy Ending (almost prophetic )
    Burning Sky Aurora
    Black Iris Snake Eyes
    Fyne Ales Jarl
    Cloudwater DDH V1 Pale (can)
    ELB Orchid

Love the Orchid, this time taken in Tapping The Admiral , but earlier in the day Burning Sky Aurora was in fine fettle in Ye Olde Mitre Inne, and is BOTW.

I suspect next weeks list will be even shorter.

Decent week for me, including a flying visit to Somerset.

    Vog - Paradigm Shift.
    Pitchfork (Epic) - Goldbine.
    Naylors - Velvet.
North Riding - US Session v38.
    Harbour - Cornish Bitter.*
    Half Moon - Stout.
    Empire - Moonrakers Mild.*
    Abbeydale - Citizen.
    Five Towns - Cranachan.
    Rat - Ratsputin.*
    Jolly Boys - YPA.
    North Riding - Cascade.*
    Ainsty - Bantam Best.
Silver Brewhouse - Arkwright Pale (Godiva).
    Townhouse - Red Rye.
    Tigertops - Double.
    Fernandes - Sunshine IPA.*
    Rat - King Rat.*
    Fernandes - Corker.
    Nethergate - Umbel Magna.

The Ratsputin (7.4%), Rat's take on an Impy Stout, takes the honours, this week. Tried in The Hop, Wakefield. Before I went out yesterday afternoon I decided to toast Moby's health with a Mosaic or Citra based beer. So, the Corker (Mosaic), in the Fernandes Tap, was drunk on his behalf. I'm generous like that.

Not a crazy week for me but a few new beers tried:

    Freddy Brewger - Robinsons
Tynt Meadow - Mount Saint Bernard Abbey
    Candlewick - Torrside Brewing
    Iron Curtain - Titanic
    Nut Brown Ale - Adnams
    Mary Jane - Ilkley
    Lemon Drizzle - Ticketybrew
Gulden Draak 9000 Quadruple - Brouwerij Van Steenberge
    Prohibition APA - Wily Fox

A bit of a tough call but I think my Beer of the Week would be the Tynt Meadow. I had heard good things about it so it had the potential to be a bit of an anti-climax, but it was really rather nice and stacked up to its reputation. The Candlewick was a close runner up. Both were purchased in bottles.

Perhaps worth a mention too is the Iron Curtain which I had in a Wetherspoons and is one of their current festival ales. A 6% stout which was no more expensive than the other festival ales, making it an absolute bargain and was pretty decent.

Had six new ticks but nowt worth drinking again
    ridgeside -spilt milk
    tap social -into the gateau
3 hills -brut berry crumble (just realise milk gateau and crumble more like my dinner list than my beer list)
    77 brewery -97 on ratebeer
    canopy -roots and shoots porter
    little critters -chameleon citra pale
but these three old school beers (to me anyway) were superb.pale and hoppy
    arbor -Shangri li
    thornebridge -Jaipur
    big smoke -solaris is BOTW

A small but (generally) select list

    Marstons - Draught Bass
    Brass Castle - Misfit
Bad Co - Dazed & Confused (sherry aged)
Roosters - Howl (Black Forest Gateaux version)
    Harrogate - Steppenwolf
    Kirkstall - Dissolution
    Thornbridge - Lucaria
    Tiny Rebel - Stay Puft
    Oakham - Inferno

A dark beer again but there's nothing to choose between my local brewers at Bad Co and Roosters both were outstanding (as was the Thornbridge Lucaria) so I'll plump for Roosters - Howl (Black Forest Gateaux version).

BTW anyone else think Dissolution has had a change of recipe? (and not for the better).

Been meaning to reply to this for ages, but not had a pint of Dissolution since July, until last Monday. My memory might be playing tricks on me, but I thought there was a drop in the hoppy intensity you associate with the beer. I wonder if the brewery's bean counters have been wagging their fingers?
