    Harlow and Croydon.

Mc Mullens -- Rivertown Brewing Haedes
    Saltaire -- Unity * (3PT)
    Oakham -- Musashi *

BOTW goes to Saltaire Unity in great nick in The George, top bar.A 6% which flew down dangerously,a very fine IPA and beautifully balanced.

Next week looks busy, back up the River Nene and then Manchester in all it's glory.

    Snowdonia Carmen Sutra 4.4%
Purple Moose Dark Side Of The Moose 4.5%

Purple Moose Mwch Lager (keg) 4.7%
    Robinson's Double Hop 4.7%
    Robinson's Trooper 4.7%
    Holden's Special 5.1%
Purple Moose Antlered IPA (keg) 5.2%
    Castle Rock Screech Owl 5.5%
    Salopian Pogo 5.5%

I'm going for one that has slowly grown on me over the years mainly at the VAT & Fiddle in Nottingham. It's the Castle Rock Screech Owl as tried for £3.30 in the Great Western. It comes ahead of the Salopian Pogo also tried there as I found that rather sweet. The Screech Owl is a tasty golden ale.

Another quiet week sees Marble/Civil Society Brewing Rainy Giraffe take the honours. A 6.5% melon India Pale Lager may not get the heart fluttering but I found it very refreshing when chilled from the can.

    Pretty average week, for me.

Wilde Child / Brass Castle - Adoption Process.
    Bingley - Mosaic.
Northern Monk - Patron's Project Light IPA (3%).
    Marble - Bitter.
    Tigertops - JC.
    Nightjar - Bollywood IPA.*
    Salamander - Python Porter.
    North Riding - Citra.*

Easy winner was the Citra, flying out of the pump, as usual, in Harry's Bar, Wakefield.

Not a particularly beer filled week for me, but I would say Black Mountain by Brains was my Beer of the Week, a black IPA in a can from Lidl as part of their craft beer week a couple of weeks ago. A bit of a wildcard one, from the same purchase, was Caesar Augustus by Williams Brothers, a lager/IPA hybrid that I was a bit suspicious about but worked quite well.

I think I also need to give a special mention to Beardo by Robinsons for being my Disappointment of the Week. They have gone to some length to try and disguise the beer as there is no Robinsons branding on the front or on the bottle cap. I think they are trying to push out a "craft" style beer and it has, in my eyes, failed. For a 6% IPA it lacked any kind of kick and just tastes like a typical hop shy Robinsons offering. But on top of the blandness it was the sneakiness of trying to make it look like something it isn't that got me.
