    Default Quinno's 2018 Challenge

    After a fallow year, I am back with a new challenge for this year.

    It's "county in a (long) weekend". So I'm aiming to do all the pubs in Rutland between opening time on Thursday and late Sunday afternoon along with Jimmy, Deggy and his trusty steed, the Blue Flame.

    I'll be tweeting @SirQuinno under the hashtag #RutlandWeekendBeervision

    Wish me luck

    It should be easily doable providing opening hours don't interfere too much.

    There will be former Ruddles pubs on your list so here is a list I cobbled up from a 1970s document :-

    Black Bull, Market Overton ; Free ; Former Everards
    Blue Dog, Sewstern ; Free?
    Bull Hotel, Market Deeping ; Everards
    Carington Arms, Ashby Folville ; Free?
    Cheney Arms, Gaddesby ; Everards
    Crown Hotel, Uppingham ; Everards
    Dolphin, Stamford ; Wells ; CLOSED
    Elephant & Castle, Pterborough ; CLOSED
    Exeter Arms, Uppingham ; Free ; Former Everards
    Fox & Goose, Illston-on-the-Hill ; Everards
    Fox & Hounds, Old Somerby ; Free? ;
    Golden Fleece, South Croxton ; Free?
    Golden Fleece, Stamford ; Everards ;
    Greenacres, St Neots ; CLOSED
    Green Man, Stamford ; Free ;
    Griffin Inn, Irnam Nr Grantham ; Free?
    Hurdler, Stamford ; Everards ;
    Jackson Stops, Stretton Nr Oakham ; Free? ;
    Kings Head, Morton Nr Bourne ; CLOSED / DEMOLISHED
    Knights Lodge, Corby ; Everards ;
    Millstone Inn, Barnack ; Everards
    Noel Arms, Langham Nr Oakham ; Punch ; Former Brewery Tap
    Noel Arms, Melton Mowbray ; Free ; Now Noels Arms
    Queens Head, Billesdon ; Everards
    Reindeer, Stamford ; Renamed to Daniel Lambert ; Free ;
    Royal Oak, Duddington ; Free ;
    Shuckburgh Arms, Southwick ; Free ;
    Shuckburgh Arms, Stoke Doyle Nr Oundle ; Free ;
    Sun Inn, Cottesmore Nr Oakham ; Everards
    Talbot, Gretton ; Free / GK ;
    Thorold Arms, Marston Nr Grantham ; Free ;
    Three Crowns, Somerby ; CLOSED in residential use ;
    White Lion, Whissendine Nr Oakham ; Everards
    Willoughby Arms, Little Bytham Nr Grantham ; Free
    windmill Inn, Redmile ; Free

    Don't take the Free tag literally, just about all chain pubs call themselves Free Houses nowadays. I created it a few years ago so it may be out of date.
    Good luck with it!!

    I vaguely remember Rutland Weekend Television.

    Doing halves? I could do that doing pints from Friday to Sunday no problem.

    Disclaimer I've looked at a number and no logistics of undertaking said task...

    Obviously good luck. Can I come?

    I'm assuming Jimmy & Deggy are the chauffeurs. Their surname isn't Parker is it?

    A slap-paste of the research - it's the number of late-afternoon closers that are the logistical concern!

    Deggy is the chauffeur. Jimmy is a mate of mine (and currently Chair of Reading CAMRA). And we all love a challenge!

    ^^^ That's research LOL. I'd just ring them all and then make my list. Free minutes and all that.

    How do these fit into Rutland?

    Belmesthorpe (1 pub), Caldecott (2 pubs), Great Casterton (1 pub), Ketton (2 pubs), Ryhall (2 pubs), Tinwell (0 pubs)
