    Truman's -- Swift

and BOTW Burning Sky Aurora * ,sailed through the 3 pint test,on sparkling form in the George, top bar.

Next week Oxford and the upper Thames to the head of navigation as long as the river levels continue to fall.

Disappointingly quiet on the pub front with just Oakham Bishops Farewell and Hop Back Summer Lightening to choose from. Both excellent though.

Hence, BOTW goes to Marble/Cigar City Brewing - It's Beer (Not Candles). Served from a can and accurately described as a tropical pilsner. Delicious on a warmer day.

Tickety Brew- Lemon Drizzle 5.2 was one of the best beers I have ever drank.Looked like a pint of orange juice but was amazing.10 out of the 12 people in the Dodo micropub were drinking it
other opinions are equally valid -my mate Gary had it on Friday night and texted -fruit sludge.

I'm back in action! Some of these are from a "pilot run" to two local pubs to see if I was up to going to Devon to visit my last seven JDWs in the County.

The winner is the Franklin's Resurrection Pale (£3.85) which struck me as a New World style beer in the local Rose & Crown. It certainly had a superb hop flavour.
The Black Sheep Pathmaker is a new JDW offering and they do 3 tins (1 litre) for a fiver. It says on the tin that it is hopped with Chinook hops and lots of them but it is gassy. It's a good alternative to the JDW dross as is the Brewdog Elvis Juice but two of them in most outlets only saves 10p and it's cheaper in Tesco.
