    Kent: old friends are best??
Shepherd Neame-Early Bird 4.3%abv. Metallic aftertaste.
Shepherd Neame Faversham Steam Brewery-Whitstable Bay Pale Ale 3.9%abv.Toffeeish pale ale.Wiser palates than mine declare that this an approximation of Sheps of old, before they "cleaned-up" their yeast. I'm not convinced. My BOTW.

    North Riding - APA
    First Chop - Hop Pale
Gt Yorkshire - Blackout Stout (keg)
    Harbour - Cascadia
Moor/Tiny Rebel - Cant we all just get oolong
    Butcombe - Original
Gt Newsome - Pricky Back Octhan
    Black Sheep - Ram Tackle
    Helmsley - Jacky Boy
    Potting Shed (Stotfold) - Amber
    North Riding - Mocha Porter
    Taylors - Landlord
    Kingfisher Lager (keg!)
    Theakstons - Best Bitter

A straight fight between two dark beers; North Riding Porter and the Helmsley and the Helmsey Jacky Boy just takes it.

I rather like the place myself, but our last visit was a bit of a disaster. Having not been for a while, we decided to call in, on the way home, after a day's walking in Swaledale. Just as we were parking up, a coach arrived and dropped off about 25 guys in their 20s-30s, who were obviously quite 'nicely'. I didn't even apply the handbrake before Mrs a&h and my daughters insisted we move on.

    That would be frustrating!

But the law says "you MUST stop at the Cover Bridge Inn whenever travelling through Wensleydale" or at least that's what I tell Mrs B

I might have to quote you on that, next time.

Hammerton Panama Creature. A 4,3% light, hoppy ale. Had a good session on it on Tuesday in The Baum.
